The Best Rides at Sea World San Diego
A trip to SeaWorld offers the potential for visitors to get wet, and not just from the park’s famous Shamu show, but also from riding its thrilling rides. Guests who stay at the Pacific Inn, economy hotel near SeaWorld are a short drive from this popular theme park and can enjoy some of the park’s popular rides for maximum fun in the sun!
One the newest additions to SeaWorld San Diego is the Manta roller coaster. This ride is SeaWorld’s one and only roller coaster and the first ride at the park to feature multimedia. Manta takes riders through the ocean as if they were an underwater ray. Visitors will be taken through a dark tunnel with music before the coaster speeds off through tight curves and twist and turns. Before or after the ride, there are plenty of options to pet the real rays in the exhibit tanks located just outside the Manta coaster.
Another popular ride at SeaWorld is Journey to Atlantis. Hop on the small boat and ride through the waters of Atlantis. This ride combines the thrill of a roller coaster with special effects, beginning with a 60-foot drop that plunges the riders into the water. This isn’t a ride if you want to stay dry, those in the first few rows will definitely get soaked! The ride ends with an up-close look at various sea creatures in the Journey to Atlantis caves.
For riders who want to cool off with a dip in the water, head over to the class SeaWorld ride, the Ship Wreck Rapids. Riders hop aboard a circular tube raft and traverse down a rough, whitewater river, caves and underwater waterfalls. Not only do you have to worry about the drops and water elements during the ride, riders can also get sprayed by above onlookers with water cannons!
Another and final favorite ride at SeaWorld is the Sky Tower, the tallest ride in the park. This won’t get you wet, nor is it a thrill ride, but visitors flock to this ride to get beautiful panoramic views of San Diego. Riders will be asked to ride a circular shaped tram which then begins a slow climb up a metal tower. As the tram slowly spins, you will get higher and higher to enjoy the breathtaking view.
